Business Turn-Around Has Started!

imagesWe’re starting to see signs of business turning the corner, pecking through the shell of apprehension and doubt about spending. Our view is keen to budgets allocated to marketing and communications—and we’re definitely seeing increased spending.

When you think about it, a company still needs to generate revenue and can’t afford to stop communicating with prospects and customers—where the revenue comes from! And, if outbound communication isn’t occurring regularly you risk your competition usurping you…stealing your market share and more.

Communications (website, blogs, email blasts, etc) enable your company to take a leadership role in your industry. Companies investing in their communications have the vehicle to send proactive, upbeat messages and create an attitude that will reflect and influence how your organization is perceived; it’s people, products or services. Positive, smart and clever communication naturally increases the potential of your company. It’s a no-brainer.

Sure, it’s stressful to put your stake in the ground and push through the recession positioning your company in front of the crowd… but companies that adopt this attitude will find themselves leading in revenues and market recognition when this recession recedes.

Fashion PR Growing At Grabiner/Hall

gwyneth_paltrow-2Today we did some brainstorming inside the walls of G/H to tweak our strategy for new client Fine Fabrics, of Santa Barbara.  It’s an exciting event we’ve been hired to promote, and from August 1 – 31, 2009 the public will have access to French Lace manufacturer Solstiss’s 2010 collection. Hundred’s of beautiful and exotic lace creations will be shipped from the Paris showroom to Fine Fabrics location in Santa Barbara. Much of the lace is heavily beaded and enhanced with suede, metal, crystals, etc. and is being currently used in multiple Haute Couture collections by Lagerfeld, De La Renta, Cavalli, and McCartney to name only a few. I’m scanning InStyle.com for samples of Solstiss Lace gowns worn by celebs. This photo of Gwyneth is a gem.

A Few Good Posts From Paris

An average cafe creme at any Paris bistro is awesome. Never has any city inspired like that of the city of lights. Throw-in the most famous sculpture in the world, Rodin’s Thinker, the Eiffel Tower in the evening hours, and a plate of mussles baked in garlic parsley sauce and you’ve got your average day in Paris.

Whoa… Before and After Baby!

BEFOREbefore

AFTERafter

This is a brand new site Grabiner/Hall just launched. The candid testimonial from our client goes like this:

“Dentistry is such a dull subject and G/H made it interesting. Not to mention that dentistry is something people just run from… I kept asking myself how do you make it interesting. That is what G/H did for us. They took our info and presented it in a way that was relevant to the consumer.”

Marie goes on to say “The web companies we worked with in the past wanted to just take the content and upload it… programmers that touted themselves as marketing experts. Grabiner/Hall was a pleasure to work with and now we’re implementing a public relations campaign and marketing program to bring new patients through the door. We intend to grow the awareness of our high quality and scope of services and professionalism.”

Everything French

img_2312

Why is it that I love everything French? French food, French language, French coffee, French fashion, French interiors, French architecture! Lenn and I believe Paris is the cultural capital of the world. Soon we’ll be traveling there for a little biz, and a little pleasure. No doubt, the trip will inspire us for months after we’ve returned.   **i took this photo last year at a fabulous farmers market on rue cherche-midi

How Good Marketing Can Liberate Your Business

I’m finding this time in our business’ lifecycle to be very interesting and to a degree liberating. Our agency is less busy when compared to one year ago… but having said that, when biz is less hurried we have an opportunity to refresh our own brand and image. We’ve invested in our website, we’ve added this new blog, and we’re twittering like baby birds!

Grabiner/Hall was 24 years old last month -yes, Lenn and I were youngsters when we formed the company, and this is our third recession. One thing I know for sure, we will all survive, and we will all be stronger from the challenges we’ve faced in the past several months.

We appreciate every client and each project, and our creative and strategic consulting practice is on fire! I believe times like these can serve to rejuvenate every business, it’s all about ATTITUDE, and GRATITUDE.

Why Use An Outside Agency - Part 3 of 3

Reason #3:  New Ideas. New Approaches.

An outside agency works on solving marketing challenges for a variety of clients, across a number of industries.  We have found that many times a solution that we have developed for a specific vertical industry (i.e. application development or manufacturing) can become an extremely effective tool, or approach, when modified for use in another vertical – such as entertainment or home fashion.

Because of this, the outside agency is constantly exposed to and creates new ways to promote its clients wares to the marketplace. New ideas are tested. Many work. Occasionally, some do not. But it is a learning experience, and that experience and the information uncovered quickly becomes knowledge that when applied to the next project, for the next client, came make the difference between a huge success and a minor victory.

This is just one of the many reasons why Grabiner/Hall has been able to consistently provide successful creative solutions to it’s clientele – regardless of the industry.

Your Kid Needs Shoes

images2

When you’re on the inside, you can’t see “from” the outside to SAVE YOUR LIFE. Trust me, when I have to write a press release for Grabiner/Hall it’s the old “cobblers’ kid with no shoes” story. I put it off because it’s nothing new to me. I know that’s probably hard to believe, because inside Grabiner/Hall we have lots of activity, but when you try to be objective about your own company - it’s just not possible. Time to get your kids some shoes.
